How long does it last?

BOTOX is not a permanent or immediate solution to fine lines and wrinkles. It takes approximately 7 days to notice changes in your appearance after the treatment. Individual results vary, but the effects typically last 4-6 months. You can safely repeat BOTOX injections about every 4 months or as directed by your provider. Some patients report that even when the BOTOX beings to wear off, their wrinkles and fine lines appear less noticeable.

What is a treatment like?

Using a fine needle, Idelsis Trelles PA-C, will inject BOTOX Cosmetic into designated muscles in your face that are causing lines and wrinkles. You may experience brief, mild discomfort during the injection. Recovery is immediate after the procedure, allowing you to return to work and resume your normal activities that same day.

How does BOTOX reduce wrinkles?

BOTOX Cosmetic is derived from botulinum. This is a neurotoxin that blocks nerve signals from the brains to the muscles. In the nontoxic cosmetic formulation, BOTOX causes muscles to relax. When you smile, frown, or squint in harsh sunshine, the muscles under the surface of your skin create crows’ feet, forehead creases, and other wrinkles directly related to your facial expressions. BOTOX prevents many of these wrinkles and fine lines from forming by causing your muscles to essentially ignore the signals from your brain that tell your mouth to smile widely or your brow to furrow when you’re concentrating.

What about side effects?

BOTOX has been used safely and effectively by millions of people for decades. There may be some minimal bruising or redness at the injection site that fades quickly. Enlisting the services of a skilled provider greatly reduces the risks of side effects. Contact the office today if you have further questions about BOTOX or other cosmetic care services.

Will I look natural?

It takes skill and training, mixed with a wide knowledge of facial anatomy to inject BOTOX at the correct dose in the appropriate locations. An overzealous or less knowledgeable clinician can get it wrong. Mistakes can leave you with a wooden or masklike appearance that closely resembles a mannequin that lasts until the effects of the injection wear off. Idelsis Trelles, PA-C, has the medical training and expertise required to provide just the right amount of correction with BOTOX. Her skill in cosmetic care will leave you looking vibrant rather than expressionless.

How do dermal fillers help?

With the natural aging process, skin begins to lose its elasticity. The fullness or volume in your face also decreases as the tissue located just beneath your skin’s surface begins to dissipate. As a result, cheeks sag downward, jowls begin to droop, and wrinkles develop. Dermal fillers are natural substances injected into the skin to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness to the face.

Dermal fillers are often used to:

  • Restore lip volume
  • Restore volume to the cheeks, which lifts the lower face and jowls
  • Smooth out moderate to severe wrinkles
  • Improve the appearance of indented scars

What are dermal fillers made from?

The types of dermal fillers used at the Esthetics Center Of South Miami are made from natural substances, such as hyaluronic acid. Idelsis Trelles, PA-C, uses product lines from RESTYLANE® and JUVADERM®. These injectable dermal fillers are harmless and are eventually absorbed by the body. These trusted brand names have a proven track record for being safe and effective.

Will it look natural?

When done by a skilled professional, dermal fillers appear perfectly natural. Clinicians who lack the appropriate training and expertise may create asymmetry, excessive fullness or not enough volume, or uneven appearance in the depth of wrinkles or scars. Idelsis Trelles, PA-C, has medical training as well as extensive experience with cosmetic care procedures, ensuring that her techniques are both safe and effective.

What is the procedure like?

After cleansing the treatment site, your provider will inject the dermal filler into the area of concern and massage the site to help spread the substance. This process will be repeated until the desired fullness and contour are achieved.

Most patients report mild discomfort, if any. Mild bruising and swelling may occur following the injection, but these symptoms usually resolve within a few hours.

There is no recovery time required and patients can return to their normal routine immediately after the procedure. Depending on the product line used, dermal fillers can last from several months to 2 years or longer.

Is it safe?

When used appropriately by a qualified professional, dermal fillers have been clinically proven to be safe and effective treatments for reducing the signs of aging. Overall, they certainly have significantly fewer risks than a surgical facelift.
